You can buy all sorts of weird and wonderful gadgets now to save you time with almost anything you do round the house, but the kitchen has to be the place which has the most gadgets available for it. There are hand mixers, frothers, automatic knife sharpeners, devices to give your food a smoky taste (I’m not joking), chip cutters, electric can openers, ice cream makers and that is only a small portion of what is available. The question is, will we use any of them more than once?

If we’re honest with ourselves then we know that these gadgets are usually overpriced, they are really hard to clean after use, and they will be stuffed into the cupboard after just a few uses. The next time you are eyeing up some expensive gadget in a shop then you need to walk away and have a think about whether it is actually useful or just a gimmick, and if you will actually use it much. So an ice cream maker sounds good, but you’ll soon find out it is a huge amount of effort for something you can buy a lot cheaper from the supermarket, but if you like toast then a toaster which can fit a lot of different things in it will probably be great for you. Something I think is really handy is an indoor turkey fryer (only if you cook a lot of turkeys though) because it stops you struggling to fit everything else in the oven around it like the sweet potatoes etc, which is a huge problem.

So I believe there are some gadgets out there which can be really handy and save you a lot of time and stress in the kitchen, but the problem is you have to wade through a lot of useless stuff to find them. The easiest way to cut down your search is to ask your friends which ones they use on a regular basis, then you can benefit from all the money they have already wasted trying gadgets out!
